US Tourists Arriving Bali Increased Following Revocation of Travel Warning

August 5th, 2008

The positive impact of revocation of travel warnings by US government brought immediate impact in increasing number of visiting US tourists to Bali which was also followed by allied countries. Number of tourist arrivals from US, Germany, France, UK, and Italy increased in an average rate of 20%. The figure was confirmed by Head of Bali Office of The National Statistic Bureau Drs. Ida Komang Wisnu, M.A.

Increasing number of visiting tourists from the country considered as the most powerful nation in the world was expected to bring multiplication impact. Immediately meant US acknowledgment in increasing security level in Indonesia especially Bali would increase confidence among international travelers from other countries to visit the island of a thousand temple.

K omang Wisnu brought in the number of visiting foreign tourists to Bali in along the whole year of 2007 which was 1,664,854. The figure has been considered as a significant increase compared to previous years especially after two consecutive terror attacks in Bali. 2008 show an evidence of even better success with 926,926 tourist arrivals in the first half alone. With the peak seasons yet to come in the second half, enormous increase in tourist arrival along 2008 was definitely assured.

Whilst many tourists ignored US travel warnings, revocation was definitely boosted even more confidence. US travel warning revocation was also expected to motivate Australia to do the same. Listed the second largest origin of tourists visiting Bali, revocation of Australian travel warning would bring massive impact.

On the other hand, related to Olympic Games event to take place in Beijing in August 2008, number of visiting tourists from China has constantly decreased during the last few months. The trend was expected to be temporary.

    Hello,

I’d like to discuss how we can network and help each other to promote Bali as a destination.

I was in Ubud in May, and am hoping to return again in November.
