Access to Kuta Beach will be Closed

December 31st, 2008

Traffic heading to Kuta Beach will be temporarily closed on Wednesday (December 31th) starting at 17.00 local time. The closure is intended to ensure confortability for those spending their New Year moment on Kuta Beach. Traffic Department of Denpasar Police Headquarter will also clean up Jalan Pantai Kuta and Jalan Legian from parking vehicles to aviod potential traffic congestion in the area, so everybody spending their New Year moment there will not be troubled. Badung Government Calls for Airport Relocation to Serangan Island

The government of Badung foresees difficulties in implementing expansion of Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport as suggested by the national House of Representative. It is almost impossible to expand the airport towards residential area as it will face rejection by local residents. 5,493 Hectares of Forest Destructed in Amlapura

Antiterror Simulation at Bali Hotels

Chaotic situation abrupted at three Bali hotels, Hard Rock Beach Club on Kuta beach, Intercontinental in Jimbaran, and The Westing in Nusa Dua on Sunday (December 21st). The three hotels were attacked by radical groups armed with weapons and bombs. The group was disappointed by the current government with corrupt officials. Domestic Cargo Entering Bali Decreased

Newly applied limitation on weight of trucks entering ship has affected in decreasing traffic of cargo transport entering Bali. During the last two days, driver of large trucks cancelled their trip as they are not allowed to enter the port.
