Bali Agro Expo
Being an agricultural country, farming has been Indonesian backbone in keeping economic stability as well as availability of logistic supply. Unfortunately there are a number of specific sub-sectors remaining behind domestic needs as a result of improper balance between production and consumption.
So far promotion of agricultural product has not been managed in an integrated manner to ensure optimum mediation between producers and consumers. Promotional events have only been conducted partially. Therefore Indonesian Agriculture Community (HKTI) invited relevant associations and compents to hold Bali Agro Expo between 7th and 14th of June 2009 at Lumintang Square, Denpasar.
In the event, HKTI facilitates separated associations to form a one large common strength. “In addition to hirtuculture, the event will also showcase production processes, products, and product processing”, said the chairman of HKTI – Bali chapter, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Suparta, in a gathering with executives of Bali Post Media Group on Monday (May 18th).
Beyond Bali, the event will also supported by farmers from other provinces such as East Java, Central Java, West Java, Lombok, and South Sulawesi. Out of 54 available booths, 40 have been booked out. “It is the first event in Bali which also involves participants from other areas”, said Suparta. Additionally the event will involve school students from kindergarten level through university. Introduction at very early ages is expected to result in lasting memory in their minds.
Head of contests department of the organizing committee, Gede Suyono, said that there will be three type of actifities conducted in the event, namely contests, bursa, and education. “There will be coloring competition for kindergarten students, bonsai and adenium cultivating demo, post processing workshop, seminar, and cultural events involving various components of local comunity”, he said.
BaliPost Media Group expressed its commitment to support the event.
