The regency of Badung retains quite significant potential for promotion of tourism villages. Among these potential villages is Bongkasa Pertiwi of Abiansemal district. Head of Tourim Objects and Attractions of Badung Tourism Office, A.A. Raka Yudha said that the government of Badung regency currently focusing on developing these potentials. At he moment the government is preparing seven villages to be promoted to become tourism villages.
Gung Raka further explained that tourism potentials of Bongkasa Pertiwi village include natual attraction and daily living of an authentic Balinese countryside village. At the moment preparation for further promotion of Bongkasa Pertiwi as a torusim village is underway.
“Local residents of this village have taken various development efforts in preparation to promote it as a tourism village, for example a number of houses have been refurbished to serve as decent shelter for visiting tourists”, he added.
In addition to adequate housing concept, the village is also developing other aspects, expecially road network within the village which has been formed about five years ago as a result of area splitting. The main road crossing the middle of the village will be paved, and houses along both sides will be made similar like those located at the traditional village of Panglipuran, Bangli, which has been one of the most popular tourism villages in Bali.
