Bali Flooded by Large Coaches

Entering the school holiday hundreds of coaches started to flood Bali on Monday, June 29th, resulting a long queue at Ketapang ferry port of Banyuwangi. Public Drinking Water in Sanur

Related to the anniversary of the local water supply company, PDAM, the Mayor of Denpasar Ida Bagus Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra inaugurated an automatic drinking water facility available for public use on Segara Ayu Beach, Sanur. The facility was prvided to implement the Mayor’s commitment in providing hygienic fresh water and drinking water. “This is one of services provided by the government of Denpasar city, in this respect PDAM, in providing basic needs”, he said. Bali in Emergency Status for H1N1

Bali is now declared in emergency status for H1N1 after one suspect being confirmed as infected, Head of Bali Health Office, dr. Nyoman Suteja announced on Friday, June 26th. “WHO has declared pandemic status of the disease. Garuda Adds 31,000 Extra Seats During Scool Holiday

To anticipate demand surge during the coming school holiday, Garuda Indonesia has allocated an additional 31,940 seats to 6 main domestic and regional destinations between June 22nd and July 20th. Additionally flexible operational response policy has also been set in place. Allocation of additional seats will be continuously monitored, allowing changes to kick in immediately when needed. Long Haul Tourist Visit Decreases

Global financial crisis has brought a negative impact in decreasing number of long haul tourists especially from Europe and North America. However in total number of tourist visit to Indonesia between January and April 2009 slightly exceeded the same period of last year by 1.53%. Consumer Confidence Index Increased

Early 2009 people seemed pessimistic about Bali and national economy, reflected by consumer confidence index for the three and six months ahead which only recorded at 73.83 and 72.25 consecutively in January.
