In spirit of continuous effort to improve quality of performed art, a curator team has been formed up for the 31st annual Bali Art Festival (PKB). The team will work to qualify art performance to be presented in the event, which hopefully will affect in better and more consistent quality.
Speaking for the team, Prof. Dr. Wayan Dibia and Kadek Suardana claimed that the team has made their best to qualify art performances to be presented in the soon coming 31st PKB. “Through the selection process we are trying to lead art to the right track. Development is important, but it should be strictly led, containers may change, but the essence shall remain”, Suardana said.
31st PKB which will take place between June 13th and July 11th will present art parades, contemporary arts, dramas, musical performances, and dances Prof. Dibia explained that the event was not design as competition to fully promote diversity. Despite of its small size, Prof. Dibia said Bali has numerous unique arts. Different regency and city have their own characters, which through the parade is expected to be presented as a whole. “Diversity is our nation’s character, and with PKB we celebrate that diversity”, Dibia said
To add education element, there will also bee weekly art dialog during PKB event. “With the dialog we give space for audience to ask questions and express opinions about the art performance they saw”, he explained. In addition to art performance PKB will also present unique culinary heritage from every regencies and cities of Bali.
