Garuda Adds 31,000 Extra Seats During Scool Holiday
To anticipate demand surge during the coming school holiday, Garuda Indonesia has allocated an additional 31,940 seats to 6 main domestic and regional destinations between June 22nd and July 20th. Additionally flexible operational response policy has also been set in place. Allocation of additional seats will be continuously monitored, allowing changes to kick in immediately when needed.
Vice President Corporate Secretary of Garuda Indonesia, Pujobroto ini his release detailed the breakdown as follow: Jakarta-Denpasar 19,800 seats, Jakarta-Pekanbaru 2,700 seats, Jakarta-Surabaya 5,350 seats, Jakarta-Bangkok 540 seats, Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur 1,100 seats, and Jakarta-Malang 2,450 seats.
Pujobroto believes that regular flights will be sufficient for surge in other routes. Extra capacity will be gained by both operating larger aircrafts and increasing flight frequency. The first method will contribute 24,404 seats whilst the second method will contribute the remaining 7,378 seats. As shown by previous years, in addition to domastic and regional routes, Pujobroto also predicts a surge on flight to Jeddah. “Many use the holiday for Haj”, he said.
To ensure consistent service conduct during the period, Garuda has set a team for operation and suppervision of passenger services (TP4), consisting of various service units in the company. TP4 will ensure smooth operation of Garuda flights including passenger services as well as on spot trouble shooting.
