Serangan Marine Garden Opened
Attention of Omega Group Kyowa, a Japanese corporation focusing in fishery and maritime businesses was expressed by devrlopment of Serangan Marine Garden located at Banjar Pojok, Serangan, which has just been officially opened for public on Friday, August 21st.
Director of Serangan Marine Garden, Susumu Kanno, sand that development of the aquarium was intended to protect marine biodiversity of Bali. Devastation of very rich marine biodiversity of Bali will become a serious disaster. “Therefore we elaborated the idea to protect marine biodiversity of Bali by developing Serangan Marine Garden”, he said.
Kanno further said that Serangan Marine Garden will become a place for students and young generation to study various marine species. The knowledge will initiate the feeling of responsibility to protect marine biodiversity. “Serangan Marine Garden is open to everyone for free between 10.00 and 17.30 local time”, Kanno said.
At the moment Serangan Marine Garden has a collection of 100 marine species including fishes and coral reefs in 100 aquariums. Visitors can learn each and every species as all aquariums are accompanied by adequate information.
Serangan Marine Garden was officially inaugurated by Anni Numberi, wife of the Minister for Marine and Fishery, Freddy Numberi. Anni said that presence of the aquariums will help people to know the species and make proper contribution in protection of marine habitat especially in Serangan and surrounding areas.Furthermore she expressed her appreciation for attention of Omega Group Kyowa, which in the event was represented by the Vice President of the Group, Kimiya Homma. The facilities was considered as a token of supports of the company towards protection of Bali’s marine biodiversity.
The event was then continued by planting of mangrove trees along the shore of Serangan which involve invitees an school students.
