Ninety nine paragliders flew at the same time in the air above Timbis Beach, Nusadua to commemorate the 9th of September 2009. The action was recorded by Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) as it broke the previous record of last year when 88 paragliders flew together at the same time.
The effort to break record of number of paragliders flying together at the same time this year took place at the same place as last year at Timbis Beach, Nusadua, and participated by domestic paragliders as well as those coming from various countries. Preparation was started on 9 a.m. sharp,local time, and the record was broken on 12.05.
“Record of paragliders flying together at the same time is recorded by Indonesian Museum of Records as #3907, which broke the same record recorded last year on August 8th 2008 when 88 paragliders flew together at the same time”, the manager of MURI, Paulus Pangka announced when he handed over the plaque to the organizer of the event.
In addition to the record of 99 paragliders flying together at the same time, the action has also made a new record of the longest paragliding by Dedi Arifianto who flew in paragliding for 9 hours and 9 minutes, breaking the same record made back in August 8th 2008 for flying 8 hours and 8 minutes.
