There is possibility that the donation post was an undercover for gaining private profit instead of in the hand of the earthquake victims.

The member of Minang Sayo Family’s Union (Ikatan Keluarga Minang Sayo-IKMS) in Bali realized that the disaster happened to their brotherhood can manipulated by irresponsible people. Bali IKMS secretary, firdaus Sarudji wish for the awareness of the people who willingly give some of their money to help the earthquake victims. It is possible that the fund gathering is used for gaining some profit. “Our party –IKMS- has characteristics, and that’s why people should aware with several deception tricks for fund donation,” as been said by Firdaus on Thursday.

Immediately after the disaster happened, IKMS opened post in Gunung Lebah street number 25 Monang-Maning as its central. Not all of Padang Food Restaurants participate in donation gathering. According to Firdaus, today there are only fifteen Padang food restaurants who participate. “There is banner for those who participate, no banner means they are not a participant,” he added.

The donation can also be done through cars and usually stand by at Dewi Sartika street in Denpasar. Firdaus said that the committee of IKMS always wear black suit with logo and letter of IKMS written on it. Besides the donator always given receipt with IKMS seal on it after gave their donation. If there is people who used IKMS name without those characteristics, Firdaus suggest for the donator to be aware. The enthusiasm of people in Bali to help the earthquake victims was so high. It is shown by the first day of donation; the collected fund was about ten million Rupiah. That fund will be delivered on Saturday October the tenth. Firdaus predicted that the fund will reach more than Rp 100.000.000. He said that when the earthquake stroke several areas in sumatera years ago, IKMS succeeded collected donation for about one hundred million rupiah “it doesn’t mean that we closed the donation on October 10th. On that day we delivered the fund but if there is another donation, we absolutely will delivered it again,” as been explained by this man who is also a journalist.
