Underground water resources should keep maintained. Ways to maintain it certainly not merely by raising its tax. Conservation also should be done. Don’t make tax rising as a hidden clue to raise regional genuine income. Meanwhile the fund calculation for maintaining and keeping the water resource sustain in minimum level.

Underground water resource utilization is approximately reached million meters per month. Since there are hundred of hotels and restaurants in various tourism areas utilize underwater resource. There is even one hotel that takes underwater resource for about 1.300-2.000 meters cubic everyday. That was equal with the use of water for 1.300 house hold customers. The same with water packed industry which used 33.000 meters cubic every month. Not to mention other industry such as laundry, car cleaning service and house hold. It is means that underwater resources have become rapturous business commodity.

As been reported on Thursday (October 22nd), Aqua Company in Mambal also used underground water for about 38.000 meters cubic on August. The same with Fontana and Gopal Ji.

As well as Coca Cola Company. Data from Cipta Karya Department of Badung, Coca Cola in July used underground water for about 5.502 meter cubic. Then in August and September for about 4.292 meter cubic and 6.596 meter cubic.

The head of Coca Cola Factory in Mengwi, Endro Endarto explained that the tax value paid by Coca Cola since July 2009 raise for about Rp 112 million until Rp 120 million. On contrary with the increasing tax of underground water merely oblige tax payment of Rp 11 million.

Endro who contacted yesterday said that to maintain water supply, there are two steps have to conduct they are water saving and water conservation. The saving ways include medication of processing machine, bottle utilization strategy and incentive income for employee who can use water economically. There is also bio pore which can maintain water absorption to the ground.

Meanwhile the main director of PDAM Badung –Badung Region Water Company- I Nyoman Sukanada said that besides underground water resource taken from 20 units of bore well, PDAM Badung also has other full fledged water resources for about nine water source points spread around north Badung also from shell water sources coming from downstream of Tukad Badung –Badung River- and estuary dam. In order to saving the utilization of underground water resource, Sukanada mention one of that effort was by maximized estuary dam which today can provide water for about 300 liter per second.

This process, he said, is still ongoing. He wishes for another stock around 200 liter per second achieved in 2010 makes the total amount from estuary dam is 500 liter per second. That effort is one of step to compress the utilization of underground water resources.
