As been assessed by the Head of River Area Institution of Bali-Penida P U Department, Ir. I Nyoman Ray Yusha, M.M. on Friday (October 30th). He said that water crisis dialogue and the mess of underwater resource management had become serious conversation and should be responded wisely. “Don’t manage water in term of economic point of view only. Water is considered as the basic right for human and stand as life supporter. That’s why, special management toward underwater utilization should be under scientific study instead of economic consideration,” critic by him.

He said that along the abundant volume of surface water in Bali, several efforts should be done tactically to manage it. As long as surface water in Bali went to the sea and triggers flood. This condition has great danger potential for nature and human in Bali, when the awareness in manage water sources weaken. “Nowadays, many of water pockets in Bali are damaged, several of them even was in critical state. This condition is due to the space management fault which triggered the spoiled upper course of river area. More ironically, the open opportunity of packed water business caused water as an economic commodity,” he said.

Realized this fact, he remind for Bali conduct integrated movement to save the nature so that water resource cycles is protected. Don’t make any compromise rapprochement for the upstream area if it ends on economic growth only.

he said that water saving movement can be done by build long storage to Tukad Penet – Penet River – and Tukad Petanu – Petanu River – “In term of water care action, Balinese people could conducted upstream care movement by initiate reforesting. In this context the bureaucrat should act as the pioneer and initiator,” he suggested.

In manage surface water resource, he also admitted had implied for Ayung Dam development with bigger scale. If this can be realized, he wished for the huge action for underwater resource suction in South Bali controlled.
