Rest area of Rambut Siwi at Yehembang, Mendoyo until today still ignored and lack of any touch. The area that has rest function as its main purpose now looks awful. Since this last years that Balinese Provincial Government asset has turn to be the place for cows herd or dating area for cheating couple.

According to several people, that area has no its main function anymore moreover there were rare for people to transit in that area. Though from Sunday’s monitoring (November 1st) there are several sellers stand by in that area though the condition still showed quietness. There is also police post even though this area still considered as rare area to get pass by. In the past that rest area is filled with art market but nowadays it doesn’t exist anymore since they lack of customer. Besides filled with gift stalls, that rest area also completed with toilet, mushola and gazebo unit for rest.

Once, there was a restaurant there. But again like anybody else they admitted that they couldn’t survive since the quite condition of that area and also with group of bats which come every night. While the Tourism Department of Jembrana before hand confessed that they had gave up since that place is belong to the provincial government asset.

The location that is leaned to the north make this area occasionally transited by the driver who passed by Denpasar – Gilimanuk street. That obstacle then solved by change the two way street become one way street. So every vehicle come from Gilimanuk or Java should passed that rest area, but still it brought nothing. Though the prohibition sign standstill at that traffic line, yet the driver from Gilimanuk keeps infiltrate that prohibition sign. Then what should be done to make these tens square meters land become useful?

Regional Legislature of Jembrana from Democrat fraction, I Putu Kamawijaya said that that area was a problem for a long time. Before there was an idea to make it as café but that would against by so many parties since the location is close to Luhur Rambut Siwi Temple. Finally it decided to be a rest area completed with supporter facilities. But less strategic become an obstacle. This council will bring that problem in next plenary. Karmawijaya suggested for that area turn into Sport Stadium for Mendoyo people. Since for the time being Mendoyo still lack of that public service. “Instead of facilitated for the immoral or cows herd better we utilized it as sport stadium. We will deliver this idea in the next plenary meeting,” he said.
