Panaung Bayu Ceremony starting from November 17th at Batu Madeg Temple of Besakih finally end or masineb on Sunday November 22nd yesterday. Panyegjeg Jagat Ceremony which is held full of respect and led by Ida Pedanda Jelantik Dangin from Gria Alangkajeng, Nongan, Karangasem. The procession was ended with mendem bagia pulakerti in ulun Pasimpenan which was preceded with ngeseng bagia pulakerti ceremony used pasepan fire under circle formation of community leaders, Bangli Regency government officials which was led by Jro Mangku Mara and Jro Mangku Jana.

Panaung Bayu Ceremony precisely as a media to memorize the people trough sacred ceremony so they will spiritually realize to maintain the living energy sources. Caring and awareness toward God creations is an important and noble action. Jro Mangku Mara stated that this panaung bayu ceremony has very deep meaning. Bagia pulakerti and mapendem process is considered as the peak ceremonies from several ceremonial series of this panaung bayu and has mangurip meaning and negtegang jagat – stabilizing the world – Besides, there will be natural process against the leaders who didn’t care about nature and environment.

”Mapendem simply has a meaning to revitalize again or give prana to earth as the world holder. Makes this world will be free form any disaster,” said Mangku Mara.

Before, Ida Pedanda Gde Putra Djelantik frm Geria Gede Bukit, Bangli in his dharma wacana – religious speech – state that ceremony as one way to stabilize the earth (nyegjegang gumi) which recently unstable. The indicating factors were lot of natural disaster and disease happened in rampant and in severed in the world nowadays.

Especially in Bali, there is dryness caused crop failure in addition with pest attack as from rates, rotten and wilt disease which attacked most of banana trees and else. Once the rain caused flood, landslide and tornado. People fighting each other for several times in Buleleng while human war in other side of this world still meet no end.

Whereas, gering (disease) happened in Bali such as rabies, fever, cough, diarrhea or vomiting defecate. Nowadays, though it was raining for several times in Bali but the weather still hot.

Ceremony which was offered, said by Ida Pedanda, in this nyegjegang bumi were banten nyegjegan bumi and banter dirgayusa bumi, banten bakti luhuring akasa, bagia pulakerti also banten pamereman. Furthermore, sradha umat – Hindu’s people belief for five concepts – has keep to be strived endlessly while ask for safety from Ida Batara/Dewa Wisnu as the care taker God of nature and its whole things in it. We also have to treat well the nature and environment.

In this panaung bayu ceremony held every fifth eclipse – tilem kalmia – the whole community came to get rice taken from the offering for Ida Batara Pujung Sari seat located in the very south of the temple area. Spiritually that rice has meaning as a workd, sadhana fruit, astiti bakti – devotion – for Ida Batara as the masari – who giving outcomes –

Batu Madeg Temple located at the north Penataran Agung Besakih Temple is considered as the seat of God Wisnu according to Caturdala concept. In that temple area there are bale papelik, bebaturan and meru together with gedong. Bale papelik and bebaturan as the seat of Ida Batara Batu Dinding, Ida Batara GAjah Watra, Ratu Batara Gajah Para, the only one Gedong linggih Ida Batara Pujung Sari. While the three Meru Tumpang 11 is the seat of Ida Batara Manik Bungkah, Ida Batara Bagus Botoh, Ida Batara Sakti Batu Madeg or Batara Wisnu.
