Bali Government is considered developing “Balinese Day” or one day with Balinese language as an effort to maintain the development of Balinese language. Considering to the amount of Balinese speaker and user slowly reduce every year.
Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika in his statement at Renon on December 8th said that even though Balinese language has been entering the educational curriculum in our schools but it becoming more and more rare finding those who can speak it fluently.
Moreover with the development of tourism industry in Bali makes the utilization of this language is infrequently used in society’s daily activities.
Indeed social interaction in national and international scale required us mastering Indonesian and foreign language better, but still we have to keep maintained our origin language that is Balinese language” said formerly Bali’s Office Head.
Mangku Pastika hope for the role of teachers and Bali’s public figures to keep maintain and preserve Balinese to the young generation.
Furthermore, Balinese language is considered as on of cultural asset that definitely could attract the tourists who came into Bali.
