Three locations in Bali is targeted to become the location of 2010 world cultural heritage by United Nation Educational Scientific Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Those three locations are the area of Jatiluwih Rice-Field Tabanan, area of Pakerisan River stream Gianyar and Subak Desa Adat Taman Ayun Badung.
General Director of History and Archeology from Cultural and Tourism Department, Hari Untoro Drajat in his statement at Renon on Wednesday, December 16th confessed that at least on June 2010 those three locations will be designated as world cultural heritage
Furthermore, UNESCO has already recommended it to the government to complete several comprehensive documents at least on February 2010.
According to Hari Untoro, probably there will be three places in Bali as part of world cultural heritage since these locations have potential but have no social institution support from the local people.
”Bali has already prepare for this kind of social institution since there is already desa pakraman – village organization – if other than that, it still far away,” said Hari Untoro Drajat.
Director General of History and Archeology form Cultural and Tourism Department, Hari Untoro Drajat mentioned Indonesia had prioritized eight locations as part of world cultural heritage as in Bali, Tanah Toraja, Nias, Muara Jambi and Trowulan.
Whether until today Indonesia merely has three world cultural heritages that are Borobudur, Prambanan and Sangiran.
