Another Taxi Drivers Demonstration

Hundred of taxi driver on Monday, December 21st planned to get back for their demonstration demand for the government canceling their plan to add taxi fleet in Bali. That action is estimated will bigger than before and will straightly targeting Bali governor Made Mangku Pastika. According to the plan, those taxi driver will begin their action at Dewa Ruci sculpture’s criss cross area of Kuta.
One of the representatives, Nengah Suardiana on Sunday, December 20th said the two demonstrations were triggered by the government attitude that insisted to add Blue Bird taxi fleet,” he said.
According to him, that authorization is the remaining quota. Means that Blue Bird as the biggest company centralized in Jakarta could add their fleet again for about 500 taxis. Though for all along the taxi drivers have lost lot of their income sources caused by the already large number of taxi already exist in Bali. If additional fleet will persisted to be done, he said, this will absolutely reduced other taxi drivers income especially for the local company. Moreover, other company also will lose in competition with that new Blue Bird fleet.
”If we lack something they should help us to improve ourselves instead of bring us more difficulties. This concerns more people stomachs. So, we beg for the government reconsiders it again,” he said. Suardiana also added that his party has coordinated this action with their colleagues and estimated larger number of people will join the demonstration. Besides, his party also had conveyed their demonstration announcement to the Poltabes Denpasar – Denpasar Police Office –
