Coral Reef Cultivation Emerge Export Marketing

Coral reef cultivation conducted by group of fishermen from Serangan Village, Denpasar is able to emerge into export marketing.
“Coral Reef preservation using transplantation technique we conducted caught foreign interest and make it able to emerge into Europe marketing,” said the chief of Nelayan Karya Segara Desa Serangan Group, Wayan Patut on Thursday at Denpasar.
He said, coral reef that had been exported was not taken straightly from the sea instead of doing that, they used cultivation technique.
He also said that coral reef is in fact protected by the laws especially in relation with commerce due to its nature conservation. But with cultivation technique of coral transplantation, the farmer tried to cultivate that coral reef in which it will be harvested for the behalf of further grafting. Thus will be breed for local as well as export marketing.
”We had implanted hundred of coral reefs for nature conservation in Serangan Island territory such for a long time,” said this man.
Besides they also conducting hundred of unit of coral reef using “raff ball” which latter could be harvested as well as get sold by the fishermen.
”In one hand they could save the nature but at another hand they could utilize its economic benefit from that cultivation so the fishermen will get attracted to cultivate and rehabilitate the coral reef,” said Patut.
He explains, his party makes a differentiation between observation coral reef with cultivation coral reef that can be sold. They observed the existence as well as rehabilitation effort of those coral reefs.
”All this time, our group has been cultivating varied of coral reef in colors such as brown, green, yellow, etc,” Patut said.
Those coral reef had exported in several countries especially America and there are also for local marketing. In general, the coral reef as the result of cultivation effort is used as the main accessories in sea as well as mineral water aquarium making
