10 Garbage Trucks for Kuta New Year Celebration

Euphoria in welcoming 2010 has ended already. What left behind was garbage only. After New Year eve ended what coloring Kuta Beach was garbage. As far as covering the beach with paper garbage, that used formerly as fireworks and food wrapping material.

Garbage volume in this year also can be said the largest garbage compared with last year before. NusaBali reported that in the morning after New Year celebration precisely on Friday, January 1st, that four kilometer beach full of fireworks rubbish. Moreover, along Kuta Street area there is also other New Year celebrations garbage.

Tisna said that for this year garbage was indeed lot more than last year garbage. This was due to lot of people who celebrated their New Year eve at Kuta Beach. “Number of visitor was increase compared with last year celebration which at the same time also triggered garbage increasing number,” he said on Friday (1st January).

Even the cleaning officers and the sellers had to hard work in clean the beach from that fireworks garbage, food and beverage papers wrapper garbage. “The amount of garbage transported yesterday up to ten trucks whether in regular day it merely one to two truck only,” he continued.

He added that in last year celebration, they merely found food and beverage garbage but this year there was also fireworks garbage. Meanwhile, Kadis DKP Badung – Chief of Badung Cleaning and Landscaping Services Institution – Wayan Suteja said that they had already planned everything in anticipating that garbage accumulation. But he also confessed not bring any additional personnel as well as equipment to deal with those New Year celebration wastes. “Either the personnel or the equipment still the same with our regular days but only our working time that is earlier than usual,” he said.

He mentioned that the amount of garbage in Kuta per day reach 920 meter cubic and estimated would rise due to the amount of visitor that is larger than last year. “But we still able to handle all of that. We even manage to finish it at nine on the beach and street area around Kuta area,” he continued.
