It is the time for bring back the domestic tourist on rule. According to the income data, local tourists give more contribution rather than foreign tourists. They, who does several years ago ordained as the king of foreign exchange supplier for the regional government in Bali.

From the data gathered at Dispenda Denpasar, income from hotel tax on last November was more than 6.5 billion Rupiah. On December, it decreased more than 1.5 billion Rupiah. At the end of 2009, Dispenda merely could gain for about 4.9 billion Rupiah. Thought on December, not merely foreign tourists who spend their holidays in Bali but also the domestics.

Not simply the income from the hotel that get decreased but also from restaurant. On November 2009, the income got from restaurant was 2.3 billion Rupiah and on December it only 1.9 billion rupiah. Whereas, as the rate of visiting gets increased in Restaurant, the same also with restaurant.

Sharp leap up actually happened in January. Simply for hotel tax in 2009 Dispenda succeeded gathered more than 9.6 billion Rupiah. Meanwhile for restaurant tax there was more than 2.2 billion Rupiah. Head of Dispenda Denpasar, Ida Bagus Subrata confessed that every December there will be lot of tourists come into Denpasar. This head of department who had lead that institution for ten years said that PHR income in December ‘decreased’ since it taken from operational hotel and restaurant in November. So the tax income in December will be taken in January. “That’s why, our January tax is bigger than other months considering it was the December tax taken in January and came from the increasing rate of tourists visit,” said Subrata when contacted by NusaBali.
