Baby Gibbon Born in Bali Zoo

Collection of scarce fauna in Bali Zoo get increase, monkey without tail or known as gibbon (Hylobates Syndactalus) from Sumatra had gave birth a baby.

This gibbon baby was the third child from gibbon couple, Menik and Boy. After it born, that gibbon child tightly hold by it mother.

It hard to take any picture from the baby since gets covered by its parent leg.
Sales and Marketing of Bali Zoo, Putu Agus Setiawan state that until today the gender of that baby still unclear because it cannot be free from its mother.

“It hard to capture the image since it still in its mother’s arm,” said Setiawan.

According to Setiawan, nowadays gibbon can be considered as rare animal. The existence of this animal drastically decrease in Sumatra’s forest.

This is due to the wild hunters, which frequently hunts this cute animal in addition to illegal logging make their populations decrease.

“Gibbon has important role in regenerating the forest with distributing the seeds,” explained Setiawan.

Nowadays, add Setiawan, that gibbon baby is in the middle of doctor and animal keepers supervision who checked it condition and health.
