Bali The Host of Global Environment Forum

The eleventh Global Environment Forum will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali on February 22nd to 26th 2010.
The Head of Bali Public Relation and Provincial Protocol Bureau, I Putu Suardhika in Bali, on Wednesday said that the activity will involve 5.000 thousand delegations from 150 countries.
“It had been certain that the meeting will be conducted at BICC The Westin Resort Nusa Dua,” he said.
This event is certain will be held in Nusa Dua get revealed when there is a meeting between the secretary of Environmental Minister, Ir Arief Yuwono with Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika on Tuesday (January 12th).
In that meeting, said Suardhika, Minister Secretary Arief Yuwono mentioned the meeting will be divided into two session.
For the first session will be held on February 22-24 as an introduction meeting whilst the second meeting on February 25-26 will be filled with the meeting between Environmental Minister from each countries.
Arief Yuwono said, Indonesia is trusted becomes a host due to several reasons, among them was Indonesia once had been the governmental council president of this forum. Besides, the member of this forum also agreed to conducting their eleventh meeting in Indonesia, precisely in Bali.
“Today’s meeting is the continuation from the last meeting in Rotterdam, Brussels and Stockholm. Why Bali is chosen as the meeting place? It because this island it the central of national example orientation in term of environmental preservation,” said Arief.
Meanwhile, Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika mentioned that he welcoming well this internation believe toward Bali and ready to prepare everything in order to become a good host. He also consider this meeting as prestigious meeting since nowadays, environment is become the center of world awareness.
Mangku Pastika wished for Bali will positively contribute in an effort to save the earth and its environment for the life and nature preservation, this will be discussed in that forum.
“Some lesson and value that is part of Balinese local wisdom for instance are Tri Hita Karana or the concept of balance, religious ritual as in Tumpek Uduh and Tumpek Kandang. They all are relevant to the actualization of this activity,” said the Governor.
