Denpasar Public Labour Repaired Flood Anticipation Drainage
Public Labour Division of Denpasar City is in the middle of drainages renovation as well as river dredging as an flood anticipation effort in this raining season.
“Nowadays, we are in the middle of drainage renovation and some river dredging which could trigger flood, that rivers are Tukad Demak and Tukad Mati,” said the head of Denpasar Public Labour Division, Ir. Ketut Winarta at Denpasar on Friday.
At Denpasar itself there are nine flood points then in order to anticipate it, he continued, his party had conducted several efforts, among them are the making of spatula and the renovation of rice-field irrigation.
“For Tukad Demak, the renovation of its dam that used immovable dam is changed into moving door dam,” he said.
He consider that with a moving dam door will make everything get easier when the water gets over the limit, they could open the door and release some water preventing for the flood happened.
“There are 70 people who will dredged the water-channels that are inside and outside of the city, as well as along Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai,” said Winarta.
It is said that Public Labour Division had already built drainage channel before with 400 meter in length at Kesiman Kertalangu Village in order to accelerate the flow of water that stucked at the two dams in Padangsambian Kelod area. They also had reconstrucked Dadas dam.
Moreover, he said that he had dredged 600 meter Pengawa River and built and renovate water-channels at Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai.
“Outside physic development in anticipating the flood, we also spraying of water to clean the water-channel for about 44 kilometer in length, until today the realization conducted had reached 42 kilometer,” said Winarta.
