City’s Waste Needs Serious Management
Waste management at the city is a big problem that needs serious handling. That is why, the establishment of waste management system under hygiene self-management group is urgently needed.
“If this group could be formed, it definitely can reduce the volume of waste in Denpasar little by little,” said the assistance II of Denpasar governmental secretary, I Gusti Ngurah Eddy Mulya in Denpasar on Monday.
He said that Denpasar as the capitol of Bali as well as the central city definitely will has various problems. One of them is population increase into the city makes the wastes volume also get increase.
“In order to raise the effort of waste management, especially in Denpasar, we need good cooperation from all parties, that is government, entrepreneur and from the people itself,” he said.
Eddy Mulya said, hygiene self-management group in Denpasar had been set in Surat Keputusan Wali Kota Nomor 188.45/779/HK/2009 in relation with its job and responsibility.
It is said that the group job and responsibility is conducting efforts in managing the waste and the hygiene of their own territory, accordance with self-management, which covers sweeping, gathering and annihilation of those wastes.
“We wish for the large number of cost from this self-management group will make each of its member will discuss altogether everything, starting from energy, the infrastructure needed including the job for direct charge will be discuss together,” he said.
Meanwhile the head of Cleaning and Landscaping Service of Denpasar, I Ketut Wisada explained that the effort for waste management should maximally conduct as well as integrated it with all aspect of society involvement.
“If we could manage the waste well, it could bring us benefit either in term of economic or health,” he said.
In order to do that, his party always remind the society to increase their consciousness toward waste management and trying their best in cooperate with all parties including head of village, head of environment and klian dusun.
“With this, we have no doubt that the realization of healthy, beautiful and shining denpasar will comes true,” said Wisada.
