Bali Pioneered Environmentally Conscious Banjar
Bali pioneered banjar or villages that will concern themselves on environment consciousness by prioritizing their apprehension, conscious and mutual cooperation in maintaining and preserving environment sustainability.
“Banjar and village pioneer will be supported by the shopping centers as well as shop management in order to avoid the use of plastic as wrapper,” said the Chief of Bali environmental agency, Ir. A.A Gde Alit Sastrawan in Denpasar on Sunday.
He said, the consciousness toward environmental cleanliness encourage the local community to pick up plastic waste around their own environment.
“It is proved by thousand citizen and students pick up the plastic waste along Mati River around Mahendradata Denpasar,” he said.
He explain this pioneer, effort and breakthrough plan is conducted considering the lack of people’s consciousness to throw waste at the right place, especially plastic that cause river and sea water pollution.
“If this condition allowed to be proceeded further, it feared will damage the ecosystem,” he said.
Sustainable hygiene movement conducted by the society should be done once a week and wish for it could help the maintenance of environment sustainability in Bali.
That effort is expected could support Bali too as the green province that according to the plan will soon declare.
Thus, make all of the people or whomever who come to Bali will raise their consciousness toward environmental consciousness including the beach and the shore.
For Balinese, beach and the shore had double function, that is for the place where every ritual event been held and for tourism interest.
Therefore, their use should under clear integrated regulation, makes environmental sustainability as its main point as well as avoiding pollution where its function would not bump into each other, said Alit Sastrawan.
