Udayana Rector, Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Bakta wishes for 10 to 15 percents of his lectures staffs hold the title Professor suits to their knowledge discipline department.

“Therefore, we encourage senior lectures to fulfill educational requirements such as master and doctorate degree to achieve professor degree,” said UNUD rector, Made Bakta before confirming five professors at Bukit Campus of Jimbaran, 25 km to the south of Denpasar, on Saturday.

He said that several efforts and support for those senior lectures has been conducted with a hope that in the future UNUD could make enough amounts of professors.

“With another inauguration of five professor this time means Unud already has 151 professor recently. In other word, it means that the university has around eight percent professor from the total number of lectures staff.

In 2010 hope there will be another addition at least nine professors again to make it 160 lectures to hold that degree.

The decision letter regarding four professors additional from the Ministry of National Education was just received and is expected could be confirmed as soon as possible.

Those four professors whose decree recently accepted are from Faculty of Medicine for two lectures and each one for Faculty of Law and Faculty of Farm,

Those five lectures were confirmed at open senate meeting which led by Rector Made Bakta. Those five are Prof. Dr. drh. I Gusti Ngurah Kade Mahardika (virus expert) from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Sri Maliawan (neurological surgeon expert) and Prof. Made Wiryana (anesthesia expert), all from Faculty of medicine.

Besides, there is also Prof. I Wayan Windia (customary law expert) and Prof. I Made Sukadana (civil engineer in earthquake resistance houses) from faculty of engineering.

Mahardika who also the head of Biomedical and Animal Molecular Biology Laboratories at Faculty of Veterinary in his inaugural speech pick a theme “The Development of Molecular Virology as a Base of Control, Prevention and Eradication of Zoonose Viral Disease”

Prof Dr dr Sri Muliawan (faculty of medicine) speech in another hand talked about “The Development of Neurological Surgeon Service in Bali” whether Prof Dr I Wayan Windhia, SH, MSi (faculty of law) orated about “Bali Mewacara menuju Bali Santi” – Proceed into Bali in Peace”

Then, Prof. dr. Made Wiryana, SP.An. KIC (faculty of medicine) with his oration theme entitled “Still a Global Challenge at ICU unit” and Prof. Ir. I Made Sukadana (faculty of engineer) was “Earthquake Resistance Houses Idea with Tri Hita Karana Concept”.
