A new history for Badung Regency crafted on Friday (December 12) yesterday. Badung now have their regent capital city called “Mangupura”. The used of this Mangupura officially launched by the Minister of Internal Affair, H. Gamawan Fauzi through ceremonial and symbolical transfer of Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) – Government Regulation – No. 67 years 2009 regarding Badung Regency Capital City Transfer from Denpasar area to Mengwi District of Badung Regency. The ceremony was took place at Pusat Pemerintahan (Puspem) Badung – Badung Central Government court, Mangupraja Mandala, Mangupraja, Badung.

That official ceremony witnessed by Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika, Head of Badung Region Council, Drs. I Made Sumer, Apt., Director General of Public Gevornment division of Internal Affair Department, Sutrisno as well as not less than one thousand invitations. They were from Bali Province Government element, all regencies/city in Bali as well as society’s components such as bendesa adat, pekaseh, art sekaa-sekaa and Castle elders.

Minister of Internal Affarir, H. Gamawan Fauzi, before left to Badung thought that Puspem Badung will be a small building. “But when I arrived at Badung, I made a mistake since thre is no regency before that has a building as glorious and beautiful as this regency building,” said the Minister of Internal Affair.

Still about Puspem Badung, Gamawan said, this showed that Badung Region Government really prepare themselves run the government, since its exploration started to pioneer and conducted. The praise from Minister of Internal Affair toward Puspem Badung also realized in term of wish he had toward this puspem to become one of tourism attraction.

Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika feels happy, sent his congratulation and thanks to the Badung Regent and Council for their sincerity as well as hard work in realizing the central government area. With the appearance of this capitol city hopes everything will become easier and shorten the bureaucracy between the government and the people in order to provide service for the people itself.

After inaugurated Mangupura as the regency name, the Minister of Internal Affair together with his group observed various location in Badung as it will become the supporter place for World Culture Forum and KTT APEC – Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation High Conference Level – on the next 2013.
