Bali Local Police starting to imposing Standar Keamanan dan Keselamatan Villa (SKKV) – villas’ security and safety standard – in Bali. That security and safety standard is imposed in order to minimize criminality against tourists who stay at villa.

The enactment of villas’ security and safety standard also stand as the continuation of hotel security standard that had been imposed first. This steps also part of realization steps in making international security standard in Bali.

Bali Local Police’s Tourism Security Director, Adhi Sadnyan Putra in his statement in Denpasar (February 19) said, with this enactment of security and safety standard would make them evaluating the villas once every two years.

“In two years there must be development in each of the villa, perhaps adding CCTV, detector instrument or adding their security officers, at that time we will check it again,” said Adhi Sadnyan Putra.

Adhi Sadnyan Putra also said that for villas that had already fulfilling the security standard will be announced and recommended to the travel agents and consuls of friends of the state in Bali.

According to the Villa Bali Association’s data, number of villa in Bali is estimated more than 1.000 villas. From that number merely 60 percent of them had fulfilled the standard of security system.
