Pengurus Cabang Persatuan Menembak dan Berburu Indonesia (Perbakin) Denpasar – Indonesia Shoot and Hunt Branches Management of Denpasar – will held shoot championship of Mayor Open Cup Tournament on February 26-28 2010.

Daily head of Perbakin Denpasar, Ir. Kadek Kusuma Diputra in Denpasar on Tuesday said that this activity is intended to prepare talented athletes that will be deployed into Pekan Olahraga Provinsi (Porprov) – Provincial Sport Tournament – Bali 2011 as well as into the national championship.

“We held that championship as a respond to the plea came from Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia (KONI) Denpasar – National Sport Committee of Indonesia in Denpasar – for the branches management immediately held branch level championship,” he said.

He said, shooting branch that was a medal barn for Denpasar at the ninth Porprov in 2009 should be prepared earlier hence will bring bigger opportunity for us to maintain or raise the medal achievement.

“We responded positively KONI Denpasara plea to immediately preparing the athletes. We valued it as a strategic way in encompass and explore seeds of potential players,” he said.

Through this championship, they not merely could encompass and explore number of potential players but they also could enliven the 18th anniversary of Denpasar City on February 27th 2010.

Mayor Cup Open Tournament will competing several group and individual competition involves air gun, firearm and silhouette weapon. Besides, two additional tournaments will also be held such as hunting and air-soft competition. Meanwhile, for those who are in group will be divided into several category that is elementary school, junior high, all kind of students and public.

Competition consist of public participants is open for all men and women athletes in Perbakin branches in Bali and Indonesia.

“It is intended to enliven the championship and to maintain player regeneration in Denpasar remain well so in the future Denpasar would not lack of player ready for higher championship such as regional or provincial championship,” said Kusuma Diputra.

He said his party had committed early age coaching and hopes for it results from the incoming Mayor Cup as a reference for the 10th Porprov in 2011 in Jembrana.

He further said that with involving senior shooter from other regencies would increase this championship level.

“The involvement of early age shooters as they are still in elementary school is wished for the aim of player coaching can be fulfilled as well as interest development hoped could appear from the young generation and children in Denpasar,” he said.
He added that nowadays people’s interest in this shooting branch is high enough.
