Ngurah Rai Airport will be Close for One Hour

Activities at Ngurah Rai International airport will stop for one hour concerning United State of America President arriving in Bali that is Barack Obama. Although they have not yet receive certain confirmation about his arrival to Bali, the airport party confessed that they are ready to welcoming this number one man in US.

That preparation as been told by the General Manager of Angkasa Pura I co. Ngurah Rai Airport, Heru Legowo yesterday Monday (March 8). According to the procedure, special landing as for a president, the airport will be close for 30 minutes before and after the landing. “Before Air Force One landing we will close the airport for 30 minutes,” said Heru.

It also said that if there is airport closing for Obama arrival, all airport and airlines will receive Notice to Airman (Notam). But Heru said that until today there is no Notam delivered to any of airlines and airports. “His arrival schedule is very tentative, between March 20 up to 25. So we still could not determine when Obama will come to Bali,” said Hery whilst confessed that he has not yet received any official request for Air Force One landing in Bali. He mentioned that two F-16 aircrafts on the next Thursday (March 18) will landed at Ngurah Rai Airport. Considering the arrival of those two planes, there will be no airport closing from and to Ngurah Rai airport.

Meanwhile, Polda Bali – Bali Police – will also backing up President Obama security. Police of Indonesian Republic (Polri) will secure Obama’ traveling route from Ngurah Rai Airport Tuban to his hotel as well as some tourism locations he will visit.

Head of Public Relationship Division of Bali Police, Kombes Gde Sugianyar, last Monday said that Polri only have a part as a back-up. Still, there is no certain number of personnel that straightly will be deployed.
