Pecalang Intercepted Bali Safari Car

Pecalang of Kesian Village, Lebih, Gianyar intercepted the car belong to recreation company in Gianyar, Bali Safari, that was crossed the street when Hindu conducted their brata penyepian – nyepi ritual – the act was done by one of Safari Park employee had stained Nyepi celebration in Gianyar on March 16.

The information gathered by Bali Post, last Tuesday, mentioned that the interception done by Pecalang Kesian since they get tired with that employee behavior who had no respect with Nyepi celebration especially with Hindu who live in Kesian village. Bali Safari party drove a car usually used at Golf court only to take their food supply instead of emergency situation such as carrying sick people.

Head of Kesian Pecalang, Ketut Susila, telling the chronologic when Bali Safari employee pass by Kesian village area was around 11.00 a.m. when intercepted by Kesian pecalang, Bali Safari party showed a letter in concern with emergency situation. After asked what kind of emergency they face the answer was to take their lunch. “Of course we get sick with that kind of answer,” he explained.

More ironically, in the letter showed by Bali Safari employee precisely signed by Perbekel Lebih. Religious and cultural activities in that area precisely is part of Kesian Pecalang thus make they warned them not to cross the area for the second time with an excuse as seeking for food supply for other Bali Safari employees.

Toward the violation done by Bali Safari party when Nyepi day, Bendesa Kesian, Ketut Maruta, S.E. said that he will discuss it first with Kesian village officials. Nyepi that had known already by international world is in fact it was violated by the people who live in Bali and Gianyar specifically. If an emergency situation like there is someone who get sick absolutely they could tolerate it but the problem was about looking for lunch that could be prepare a day before at Bali Safari area itself moreover there had been a restaurant inside the park.

“We regretted it so much for that company nonchalantly toward the local people activity, especially when we conducting our brata penyepian,” he explained.
