Bali Province government suggested for the businessmen in their area to raise CSR (Cooperate Social Responsibility) fund in order to support Bali go green.

“A suggestion to raise CSR fund is unreasonable since there is no balance between community increasing needs with environment condition which undergone through degradation,” said head of Bali Environmental Agency, Anak Agung Gede Alit Sastrawan in Denpasar, Wednesday.

He said, that suggestion had been conveyed through formal mechanism such as authorization mechanism for company establishment and direct meeting with the entrepreneurs.

In relation with the amount of oblique increase, Sastrawan said, the government will required quantitative limit for CSR fund since Company Bill is not give big limit for CSR fund as it was the company obligation.

“Its appeal merely as suggestion, and we wish for entrepreneurs awareness. The most important thing here is entrepreneur commitment and awareness toward environment preservation,” he said.

Sastrawan said that until today businessmen in Bali had responded it positively as for some of the companies had already raise their CSR fund.

“We achieved such a positive response from those businessmen. It proved their great awareness toward environment preservation. We hope for all businessmen would do the same thing,” he said.

Regarding the penalty given for those who did not follow that suggestion, according to Sustrawan, term of penalty had been accommodated in Company Establishment Bill.

“We had accommodated everything in that bill, including penalties given for those who violating it and canceling CSR fund,” he said.

The most important thing here is people consciousness and commitment especially from those businessmen since preserving our environment is part of “yadnya” or holy sacrifice.

It means, he said, whoever preserving the environment would gain positive benefit and vice verse. Sastrawan also added that CSR realization which already run is greening and waste management.

“BLH will facilitating people who want to greening. Besides free seed, those people will also received preservation fund. Thus, comes from CSR fund,” he said.

This is means that the company would not concern with plantation only but also with the afterward task such as its treatment.
“The company not will stop at plantation only, they should obligate with the treatment. If that trees plantation program then we have to take care of it so they would flourish,” said Sastrawan firmly.
