Monorail offered by the central government was monorail that would go circling around Bali. Head of Public Relationship at Bali Provincial Public Relationship and Protocol, Ketut Teneng on Wednesday (April 21) mentioned that that central bid considering monorail was a track that will go around Bali Island. It aims for tourism transportation both for domestic and foreign tourists. Wherever its destination is, they just have to ride this slowly train for around Bali cheaply.

“But this is only an offering. Mr. Governor said that this bid will be re-examined. Central offering this project in order to open wider access to the tourism areas and give easiest access for the tourists,” said Teneng.
According to Teneng, this monorail train would have track circling around Bali, similar with bus way. This idea accepted by Governor Pastika in that governors’ working meeting.

“Indeed the idea is excellent. Monorail with 80 to 100 maximum capacities. But in the end everything will depend on further examining,” Teneng asserted.

Besides monorail, Pastika also demanded for Bali accepted the ration distribution from the result of Visa on Arrival (VoA) in Ngurah Rai airport. Besides, Pastika also asked for the big project of Serangan-Tanjung Benoa Bridge would have certain manifestation with the help from central looking for investor for this project.
Central government bid concerning monorail train did not receive well respond among council member. Member of Commission III Bali Council, I Gusti Lanang Bayu Wibhiseka separately confirmed that monorail train circling around Bali is indeed an excellent idea but it doesn’t mean we have to just swallow it.

Is the idea deserves on Bali in the first place? He viewed Bali has to preparing for another land. “It is not a problem of worthiness anymore. This is about studying the project and this Bali that we talking about, it need varied of consideration aspects. Since there are many big cities with suspension railways but still undergoing traffic jam. Will it have any function, and will it becomes correct function. This brought us to the land infrastructure preparation,” said Wibisheka.

Meanwhile, member of PDIP fraction, Made Budastra separately mentioned that Pastika should have concentrate on the struggle for STB project. “If only about STB the central couldn’t help we think one idea should be fulfilled first. Don’t take too much unless we couldn’t handle it anymore and give bad name for Bali,” Budastra said.
