Thousand of Europe Tourists Left Bali

The re-opening of Europe flight path after six days been close due to the volcanic ash disturbance made some flights out of Ngurah Rai International Airport back to normal. It estimated that on Thursday (April 22) around thousand Europe tourists left Bali.

From the data received at Ngurah Rai airport, yesterday Thursday, it is recorded that six airlines had ascertain their schedule to transport the Europe tourists. Those six airlines are Singapore Airlines, Cathay

Pacific, Korean Airlines, Thai Airways, Qatar Airways and Malaysian Airlines. Meanwhile for the two airlines had transporting their passengers first that was around 500 passengers from Europe to leave Bali. According to Public Relationship of Angkasa Pura I co. Ngurah Rai Airport, A.M. Damayanti, it is estimated that up to last night around thousands of tourists from Europe left Bali through connecting flight to some international airport in Asia Pacific.

“Nowadays there are 500 passengers from Europe left Bali, but until last night there were around thousands passengers who left,” he continued.

He mentioned that besides six airways who ascertain their flight but there are also foreign airways that have not reported their flight schedule yet. “Some airways also not yet reported number of passenger they would transport with,” he informed.

As been known before, some foreign airways flights from Ngurah Rai Airport to Europe were postponed due to the burst of volcanic ash cloud from Eyjaf jallajokull in Iceland. It affected hundred of Europe tourists had to overstay in Bali. Before, Public and Personnel Manager of Angkasa Pura I co., Alex Pudjianto stated that mountain eruption at Eyjafjallajokul glacier, Iceland, give impact to the international flight at Bali Airport.

“The impact is toward interconnection flight from Europe to Singapore, Bangkok, Kualalumpur, Hongkong and many others could not flight on their fixed routes. Lots of international route users has to lengthened their stay in Bali since they could not back into their respective country,” as reported by Antara. For all along, there were no straight flights from Bali to Europe although there are tens of international airways flights onto that Europe route. All international airways had to stop by at the international airport.

The impact for active mountain eruption at Eyjafjallajokul glacier in Iceland since a few days lately had been anticipated by Angkasa Pura I co. of Ngurah Rai Airport. Hundred of flight service users had been in Bali for varied of different purposes had to overstay in Indonesia whilst waiting for the ash subsided in the sky. One fresh example is the cancelation of Plane with flight number 4061 and 835 from Singapore.

Interconnection flight Singapore_Bali with Boeing B-747-400 had been ascertained since flight from Amsterdam to Singapore with flight number 4060 and 863 also canceled.
