Ministry of tourism and cultural, Jero Wacik was observing international airport of Ngurah Rai on Friday in relation with tourists visiting Bali Island.

“Whenever I have time, I’ll spare it to observe Ngurah Rai condition in order to closely witnessing Ngurah Rai service,” said Jero Wacik in Tuban, Badung Bali.

Whilst observing the airport, he said, his party also want to know the development of arrival and departure rate after two important events took place that were mountain eruption in Iceland and turbulence in Thailand.

“I think from those two events that is Thailand turbulence as well as mountain eruption in Iceland would give effect for the amount of tourists visiting the Island of God,” he said.

He estimated, there will be decrease in the number of visit due to the Iceland mountain eruption. Although, Bali also receive overflow from the tourists with Thailand destination whom shifting their destination from Thailand due to the security condition of the area.

Averagely tourists visiting Bali are about 6.300 people, but number of visiting after those two events reached 6.700 tourists per day.

“So, the average still around 400 surplus tourists per day,” he said.

One of the effects of Iceland mountain eruption was Europe flight disturbance, lots of tourists with Europe destination could not leave Bali.

“There is guest from Belgium who couldn’t get home and should overstay for four days more but they seem happy to do that,” he said.

Wacik appreciated hotels and travel bureaus’ policy in facilitating free accommodation for those tourists.

Concerning “Border Control Management System” (BCSM) for immigration at Ngurah Rai airport, Wacik remind for the time needed manage the immigration would not too long.

“Please for Immigration management would not take too long. In the future the service should be faster than before,” said Wacik.

In that airport observation event, Minister Jero Wacik was accompanied by Bali Police Vice Head, Kombes Pol Komang Udayana and General Manager PAP I Ngurah Rai Airport, Heru Legowo.
