Tourists Visiting Ubud Decreased Drastically
Tourist visiting Ubud tourism object in Gianyar show significant derivation up to 40 percent after the widespread of post-volcanic ash in several countries in Europe since two weeks ago.
To NusaBali on Wednesday (April 28) yesterday said that number of people who involved in tourism business acknowledge that tourists visiting Ubud is decreased drastically around 30 to 40 percent. The visiting decrease can be measured from visiting number comparison before and after volcanic ash.
One of the tourism businessman in Ubud, I Wayan Roja confessed that tourists visiting Ubud decreased after the volcanic ash widespread. His party suspected that the ash widespread to some countries in Europe causing number of airways canceled their departure schedule to Indonesia, especially Bali. It has high risk even if they forced to flight. “And, we really felt the effect with the decrease of tourists visits to Ubud,” he explained.
Roja who also the manager of Bali art performance for tourists, asserted that the drastic decrease of tourists visiting Ubud could be measured from the number of viewer growth watching Bali art performance at the ten performance stages around Ubud. Starting from April 12, the tourists watching Bali cultural performance at Puri Ubud was between 60 to 70 people. Whereas, before or as the day when the volcanic ash not yet takes place number of foreign tourists reached 100 to 120 tourists. “This number only at dance performance in Puri Ubud, not including the other stages that only have 10 to 30 people only,” he said.
Roja and any other people who involve in Ubud tourism business hoped that the flight condition for the tourists to Bali would get back into normal just like post new year in Bali.
