Bali Governmental is targeting escalation rate for fruit export per year. This target is due to the export volume rising lately. In 2009 export, total volume for Bali’s fruits reached 700 ton.
Head of Agriculture, Plantation and Food Agency of Bali province, Made Putra Suryawan says targeted escalation rate for Bali local fruit export such Salak, mangosteen, mango and durian. In which, those local fruits become a favorite in China, Taiwan, Timur Leste and France.
Putra Suryawan asserted that the challenge for the marketing development of Bali local fruit export is the food quality and safety quality. Considering each country has different rule for food quality and standard.
“Each country has different quality for food entering their countries. Therefore, right now we had proposed the development of one independent organization named OKKBT as an food authority competency,” said Made Putra Suryawan.
Head of Agriculture, Plantation and Food Agency of Bali Province, Made Putra Suryawan added that besides quality problem there is also development effort for Bali local fruit in term of land availability. In addition to high rate of land’s shifting function occurred in Bali nowadays.
