Perhimpunan Hotel dan Restauran Indonesia (PHRI) Bali – Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association for Bali – ascertains that hotels in Bali is not ready yet to apply alternative energy utilization in fulfilling their energy needs.

Although in the future, hotels in Bali targeting to consider the use of alternative energy such as wind and sun energy.

Thus, as conveyed by head of PHRI Bali, Cokorda Oka Ardhana Sukawati on Friday (May 28th) responded Bali Governor urge for hotels in Bali starting utilizing alternative energy in fulfilling hotels needs for energy.

According to Cok Sukawati, they need more time in order to be able utilizing alternative energy since it needs quite big investment. Besides, the accommodation is still inadequate.

“We still not ready yet in near future although a consideration had been certain into that method. Nowadays there is hotel used this kind of alternative energy like the sun but the initial investment was expensive and the utilization also could not guarantee its continuity,” explained this Gianyar Regent.

Head of PHRI Bali, Cokorde Oka Ardhana Sukawati says that in the future, if alternative energy utilization becomes an obligation for hotels in Bali, they will try their best to follow it. Moreover, in case of the regulation will be poured into regional regulation or governor order.

Before, Bali Provincial Government ascertaining the tourism businessmen in Bali utilizing alternative energy at least 10 percent from their whole energy needs.

According to the plan, the regulation, which obligates the tourism entrepreneur to utilize the alternative energy, will be poured into the Governor’s Order and enforced starting next year.
