President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono planned to open Pesta Kesenian Bali (PKB) – Bali Art Festival – on Saturday (June 12) tonight at the opening stage Ardha Candra Taman Budaya. This opening ceremony also will attended by number of ministers such as Minister of Cultural Affair Jero Wacik, Minister of Domestic Affair, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Children Protection Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar, as been said by PKB committee chairman, Dr. I.B. Sedhawa on Friday (June 11) yesterday.

“Until today (yesterday Friday -red), we have not yet receive certainty is the President will watching for the parade. But he had been scheduled to open the festival at Taman Budaya Bali tonight,” he said.
PKB opening this time will be marked with gong beating. After officially open the cultural festival, the president and the first lady will watching colossal sendratari performance “Anggada Duta” arranged by ISI Denpasar.

The festival marked the opening of PKB held Saturday evening started from the west part of Puputan Badung. The man stage which previously made in front of Banjar Kayu Mas Kaja now moved to the front of Jayasabha facing the north. PKB parade will be freed soon after Bali Government implemented the Kayonan. Soon after Kayonan plugged it is illustrate that holy water would spring from the bowels of the earth. Then it will responded with blowing 30 sungu then the baleganjur played. Followed by, Adimerdangga and Siwa Nataraja dance by student follow it from ISI Denpasar, SMKN 3 Sukawati and SMKN 5 Denpasar. “Around 250 personnel involved in Adimerdangga and Nataraja Dance,” said the parade coordinator Gde Arya Sugiartha.

PKB festival themed “Bhuana Kerthi” – Universe Purification – in accordance with this theme then each regencies/city in Bali realized that theme in term of art performance such as masegeh procession, labuh gentuh, rsi gana and more. Concerning the theme also each regencies/city should perfomed their regency identity followed by universe purification ritual. Different things will delivered as for Karangasem with mecaru preparation, Jembrana performed people carrying pacaruan stuff, Buleleng with masegeh procession, Badung expressing ekasata ritual, Klungkung wih pancasata ritual, ngeresi gana by Gianyar, manca kelud for Bangli, Tabanan with labuh procession and Denpasar with tawur agung.

Each regencies/city also performed music non-gamelan ketug gumi to raise bhutakala. Ketug Gumi music performance is behind the procession performance line that is followed also by dexterity attraction typical every regency such as pencak silat, perang pandan and more. At the very back row of each regency/city there will be ogoh-ogoh followed them as the bhutakala symbol.

Meanwhile, participants outside Bali are at the last row so regencies or city in Bali could illustrate well the theme for this year festival. Participants from outside Bali in this PKB XXXII are comes from Lingga, Malang, East Java, Middle Java, Middle Lombok, West Kalimantan, Gorontalo, Riau, Tanjung Pinang and West Jakarta. The parade estimated will finish after 2.5 hours.
