Arrangement competition for flowers, young coconut leaf and Balinese traditional food from fish material has enliven the second day of 32nd Pesta kesenian Bali (PKB) – Bali Cultural Festival – with involving 111 participants.

Those participants comes from women organization, schools or individual as a delegation from each eight regencies and one capital city in Bali, said Vice Head of the Driver Team for PKK Bali, Mrs. Bintang Puspayoga who coordinated that event at Taman Budaya Denpasar, on Sunday.

She says the activity held at the first floor of Gedung Ksiarnawa Taman Budaya Denpasar is divided into five groups, each with their own criteria.

Young coconut leaf’s arrangement competition is dedicated for wedding reception involved 25 participants. Those participants have to create an art which could combine the young coconut leaf with varied of fresh flowers and other stuff prepared by each participants.

The art intended to decorate 75 centimeter’s tray during 90 minutes finishing process. The assessment team judged its freshness, composition, beauty and creation.

Mrs. Bintang Puspayoga added that the fruit arrangement’s competition intended for Dewa Yadnya offering was followed by 21 participants. The artwork will used varied of local fruits combined with traditional sweet and young coconut leaf’s decoration.

The art should has maximum 75 centimeter height above the tray finished for at least 90 minutes by female teenagers utmost 20 years old. The element judged also the freshness, composition, beauty and creation.
There are also competitions for making lawar – Balinese traditional food – involves 23 participants, making sumping competition – Balinese traditional cake – involved 21 participants and 21 others for cooking contest with fish as its main material.

After the judges finished with the assessment, those First, Second and Third winner will receive award and cash delivered by the committee at the festival closing on July 10th.

Competition for flowers and young coconut leaf’s arrangement receive great attention from both Balinese and foreign people in Bali.

That activity is one of nine agendas held in the second day of PKB conducted since early in the morning, afternoon up in the evening of that day.

Another activity is the performance of Banjar Beten Nyuh Marga District Tabanan Regency who presents Classic Kerawitan Gender Wayang at Angsoka stage together with Pesemotanan pragina Mas UPT Taman Budaya with their classic dances.

In the afternoon, there was innovation choir from Gorontalo government at Gedung Ksiarnawa Taman Budaya and in the evening there was cultural team from West Jakarta and Sanggar Manik Swari Banjar ireng Batuyang Village of Gianyar Regency performed Calonarang.
