Bali Provincial Government planned to register Wali dances or Balinese sacred dances to the world institution for educational and cultural department known as UNESCO.

Wali dances or sacred dances meant here are dances that for all along used by Balinese in their every religious activity.

Head of Bali Cultural Agency Ida Bagus Sedhawa in his statement in Renon, on Monday (June 14) uttered the registering process of Wali dance to UNESCO in is classification process or grouping the dances. This classification and identification itself is involving those from Institute Seni Indonesia (ISI) Denpasar and expert staff from Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affair.

“The researchers from Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affair area straightly went to the scene in order to witness it directly the developing process of those Wali dances in regencies and city. Some of them had been identified such as Pependetan dance, Topeng dance and Bebarisan dance,” said Ida Bagus Sedhawa.

Ida Bagus Sedhawa also conveyed that after identification and classification process finished, it is possible for the Wali dances at this year will straightly registered to Unesco.

With this registry for Balinese dances into UNESCO hoped there will be no country ever claimed those dances anymore.
