Increasing TDL – Rotary Blackout Extended
When the government officially raises TDL (Tarif Dasar Listrik) – basic electricity tariff – rotary black out in Bali is lengthened. From its initial blackout schedule that is end on June 30 in fact extended up to July 11.
“Rotary blackout extended up to July 11 is due to the PLTG 4 – gas power plant – in Pesanggaran entering maintenance state,” said head of National Electricity Company for Public Relationship division, Agung Mustika when contacted in Renon Denpasar, on Thursday (July 1).
Agung Mastika said that National Electricity Company for Bali operating 11 units gas power plant. Previously, rotary black out happened on June 10 was due to the damage on machine number 3.
“Both damage machine and machine which entering maintenance period has sama 20 mega watt (MW) capacity.”
Bali needs 537 MW electricity supply especially for peak load time. In order to fulfill that much of electrical necessity, Bali still achieve support from Java for 200 MW.
When asked how far the world cup euphoria influenced electricity in Bali does, Mastika said that the peak load decreased. In normal condition, the peak load reached 537 MW but in this world cup season it decreased into 481 MW.
“The cause of this perhaps because there is number of events attracts people to watch the game together in one place,” said Agung Mastika.
