Icon of Klungkung tourism object that is also a historical site, the first Klungkung king’s heritage, Dewa Agung Jambe, The Kertagosa and Taman Gili is in a serious condition. There are several damages on some parts or fragments of these sites warned-out due as the result of weather condition such as rain, wind and heat. If not promptly handle, it is feared that the site condition would getting worse.
From NusaBali observation previously, the dominant damage happened on the stone part of the second building of Kertagosa and Taman Gili. The stone details damage precisely is at its knacks carving or relief painting mounted on wall as the stone decoration. Moreover, there are carving relief that is unclear due to the serious warn-out. The floor part of these building also damaged although it also caused by not only natural factor but also human factor. It cannot be avoided considering tens of tourists come to these wonderful tourism objects.
That tourist traffic does make the floor part damaged. “Off course it damaged. There are lots of tourists come to that objects,” said Sarjana, one of Kertagosa village member. According to him, the damage caused by human footsteps is unavoidable since Kertagosa also has function as a tourism object.
“Those tourists did not come for free. They bought ticket so there is money entry,” he said. That is why those historical buildings should be preserved. At a separate place, head of Cultural and Tourism Agencey, Drs. I Nengah Wijana said that exactly there has been restoration plan assurance. The restoration will conducted by I Nyoman Gunarsa, famous Klungkung artist from Banda, Banjarangkan.
“Checking had been done,” said Wijana to NusaBali. Its only the exact time of when this restoration will conducted, this Buleleng official still could not mention it.
“We perhaps still wait for a good day to do it,” he said. It is clear that the restoration concept is to maintain building authenticity. “Only the worn-out part that will be change,” said Wijana, whilst justified that “originality” of Bali architecture inheritance will keep maintain.
