“Through the touch of art, either in term of painting, staging or documentary movie, things we want to say will keep goes through the target, with no unwanted things followed it,” said I Gusti Wiranegara, lecturer of Institut Kesenian Jakarta (IKJ) – Jakarta Cultural Institute – on Sunday, Denpasar.

The man who was born in Buleleng and years wandering in Jakarta, seeing tourism in Bali besides gives such positive impacts in driving economic in Bali and raising people prosperity at the same time has its negative effects. They are the raising of drugs, HIV/AIDS and social changing.

Balinese known for their thick mutual assistance system as well as their social life in which gradually shifted to money-oriented life.

The courteous and respectful critique through the documentary movie he made when get home to his hometown also highlighting the discrepancy happened caused by tourism development that most of it enjoyed by capital owner outside Bali even foreigner who build their tourism facilities here.

“From outsider point of view, tourism in Bali is identical with scattering dollar spend by tourists when they enjoying their holiday in Bali,” said Wiranegara.

The fact is, tourism sector still could not prospering all Balinese people since there are heads of households still live below the poverty line.

“The amount is quite a lot, some, do not even have place to live, although the area is that of rapid tourism development area,” he said.

Through the movie critique “Bali Menantang Masa Depan” hopes people could reflecting themselves and raised the human resource as well as able to win the tightening competition in this globalization era.

Regarding to the people in Bali who are not yet familiar with documentary and short movie, he said that it was not difficult as long as they longing for it, considering many people in middle to upper economic class have recording camera.
Video camera stand merely as a compliment when travelling, if only that facility utilize for maximum to documented social event and people life around it furthermore packed it into a short movie, it certainly has its own economic value.

Foreign people when holidaying in Bali, most of them carrying video camera and they were busy recorded what they see here. Arrived in their country, it is possible for them to make it into a movie and sold it out in their country, said Wiranegara.
