Bali Provincial Government Imposing Progressive Tax
Bali Provincial government is guaranteeing the imposing of progressive taxation of motorcycle ownership, especially for those who have more than one motorcycle. For more than one motorcycles’ ownership will be fined with tax raising around 1.5 percent to 3.5 percent from their vehicle’s value.
The imposing of this progressive tax is in order to reduce the number of vehicles in Bali that gradually increased.
Head of Bali Provincial Law and Human Right Bureau, Dewa Putu Eka Wijaya Wardhana in his statement in Renon (July 28) says that the progressive tax implementation will be conducted in accordance to the KK (Kartu Keluarga) – Family’s Card –
“We will record the data with door to door method. For instance, if in one house all the members of that house have motorcycle then they will be charge with progressive tax,” explained Dewa Putu.
Dewa Putu targeting the progressive tax imposition will be started in the beginning of 2011. According to the plan, the progressive tax will be imposed also to the government vehicles and TNI-Polri.
