20.000 Tourists at the Fourth Day of TLAF
The implementation of Tanah Lot Art Festival achieved tourists’ positive appreciation. It was proved in the fourth day of this festival; Thursday (July 29) with number of visitor reached 20.000 tourists.
Conveyed by head of TLAF committee, I Made Sujana, there are already 20.000 visitors and 40 percent of them are foreign tourist.
“They estimated that the number will keep increase until the last day of this festival on August 1st,” he added.
He asserted that the number has passed their initial target per days, merely estimated for 4 thousand visitors.
Meanwhile, there are number of performance held on the fourth day, for instance, prembon, topeng, jogged bumbung dance and arja muani.
In the meantime, one day before there was Okokan dance performed by delegation from Kediri Village.
“Okokan” is an instrument like a giant bell made from wood and used as a communication toll by group of people in remote villages.
The same instrument but with smaller size known as “kroncongan” usually mounted on the tree to chase away animals that could damage the coconut tree. This instrument also wears by cow or buffalo as a necklace.
This okokan attraction was started from Wantilan Pekendungan and parade until at the front of Penyawang Temple. Okokan is Tabanan respective culture and several times performed to welcoming invited guests.
Okokan attract lots of attention and brought many people want to watch it due to it thundering sound. After arrived in front of Penyawang temple, the okokan once again performed their attraction accompanied by a fragmentation dance, danced by some female dancers. This attraction really attracted tourists around the area and make them capturing the moments with their camera or video recorded.
