One Tourism Village in Badung Ready to Sell

August 14th, 2010

There are four villages prepared by Badung Regional Government into villages for tourism but there is only that has been ready to sell. Problem occurred in developing that tourism villages is rest upon the fund itself.

Head of Badung Local Tourism Agency, I Made Subawa, on Friday (August 13th) yesterday said that those four tourism villages in Badung are Pangsan, Baha, Bongkasa Pertiwi and Kapal. From those four only Pangsan village that has been completed with accommodation facilities.

“The village ready to sell was Pangsan village only whilst the other three still has no accommodation facilities such as cottage,” he said.

According to Subawa, accommodation facilities development at tourism villages has capital problem due to the none of the local people have thought of invested their money for cottage development at those three villages. Moreover, Subawa stated that Badung Government more strict in issuing investment authorization at tourism village.

It is true that investor could enter the tourism villages. From regulation point of view, Badung Tourism
Agency actually has prepared the authorization for cottage development. Each house is given one cottage authorization maximum for five rooms. However, the Badung Tourism Agency did not give the authorization for the investor. It would only give to the land’s owner or the local people themselves.

“Investor only take part as the developer only. This stand as a guarantee that the local people would really get the benefit from the tourism village development,” he said.

Furthermore, in order to build cottage accommodation, the building for rent should be in a complete Balinese style together with Balinese landscape.

“The cottage for rent should used Balinese measurement together with its unique design,” he asserted.
Subawa said that the development of tourism village chose due to the monetary circulation in tourism industry always excellent. Unfortunately, that monetary circulation only rest upon the owner most are people outside Bali or foreigners. In addition to the knot and main cultural core in Bali is in the hand of agricultural area or in other words is in the village area.
