Today (24/8), the lecture of Indonesia Art Institute (ISI) Denpasar and also their students as much as 22 people going to Moskow, Rusia to perform the show art of Nusantara. The show preparation have been held since this month. The kind of Nusantara dance that will be performed are Saman dance from Sumatra, Mandau dance from Kalimantan, Pakarena dance from Sulawesi, Padang Ulan from Jawa and some expressive Balinese culture art.

The Balinese art will be performed by art team from this Dewata island for a week in visiting Russia. Balinese dance will be lead by a choreographer named Ida Ayu Wimba Ruspawati, SST.,M.Sn and gamelan concert which will be arranged by I Ketut Garwa, S.Sn., M.Sn. The welcome dance called Selat Negara prepared as the opening of the show which is created by I Gusti Ayu Srinatih, SST., M. Si. Oleg Tamulilingan dance which is created in 1950’s by I Ketut Marya will be performed in the middle of Nusantara dance show. Every dance show will be coloring by Bali gamelan concert. The ISI art team have been prepared Gambang Suling percussion and Kebyar Ding.

After the show in Moskow, the Bali art team will perform in Kazan city, Tatarstan, which is put on 12 hours land driving from Moskow city in celebrating diplomacy reception of the 65th Indonesia independent day. An Indonesian tourism and cultural exhibition in Kazan will be reserving special stage for the performance of ISI artists. Even, the Bali artists planned to perform in Tartarstan national day on August 30th for two hours. The show will be glittering by Cak Ramayana dance leaded by Ida Bagus Nyoman Mas, SS.Kar.

According to I Wayan Suweca, SS. Kar., M.Mus., The fourth rector assistant of ISI Denpasar, who will be headed this visit of this art team. The presence of the Balinese artists in Russia is to celebrate the 60th years of Diplomacy relationship of Indonesia-Russia. “This is special art mission sent by our government recommended by Dikti,” said Mr. Wayan Suweca.

The cultural diplomacy is the tools of imaging the true self of a nation. According to the Rector of ISI Denpasar, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Rai S, M.A., art is the representation of nation character. “Based on this definition, the role of art as the tools of cultural diplomacy can be used to build nation character in the middle of globalization era,” said Prof. Rai.

It is proudly to informed if the students and the lecture of ISI Denpasar have been performed the art of Bali to the around of the world, include Russia.
