Some locations in Sukawati District of Gianyar, such as, road at Batubulan Village, Guwang Art Market, Sukawati Art Market will become the center of the worst traffic jam in history of Lebaran/Idul Fitri. It is due to the number of domestic and foreign tourists pass through the area is raised 300 percent from its usual daily visiting. Idul Fitri will be celebrated for three days that is from Friday (September 10) to Sunday (September 12).

Information received from the local sites, that is on Wednesday (September 1st) yesterday, reported that the road condition was the most hectic one with tourism buses passing through Batubulan-Sukawati worsened by the displacement of traffic flow. At first, they should have goes through bypass Prof Dr. I Da Bagus Mantra to the hectic paths. But this last three weeks lot of them used the main road of Denpasar-Batubulan-Sukawati-Gianyar City-Karangasem and vice verse. The main reason for this shifting perhaps due to the road construction along bypass Mantra in which the road filled with hunks of material.

Under the authorization of head of Gianyar Police, AKBP Ahmad Nurwakhid SE., M.M., head of Ops division Polres, Kompol I Made Wartaman confessed that Sukawati area especially Guwang art market and Sukawati art market is the place where traffic jam concentrate due to the number of tourists visiting the area since there is Lebaran holiday proceeds. His party has conduct prevention through intensive observation. Among them are opened two posts at the T-junction of Guwang village and at Masceti intersection for bypass Mantra.

“Through that two post, we will watching over the points of traffic jam with prioritizing the art market Sukawati and Guwang,” he said. Wartamana also added that every security activity including holiday and tourist visiting on Lebaran/Idul Fitri will be anticipate Operasi Ketupat. The operation will be held for 16 days starting from Thursday, September 3rd to September 18th, 2010. Or H-7 to H+8. Troops mat of Operasi Ketupat operation will be conducted at Mapolres Gianyar field this Thursday afternoon.
