Quiet Gilimanuk Port
The annual influx from Bali to Java using four or two wheels vehicles at Gilimanuk Port, Jembrana Regency, Bali on Tuesday morning is still smooth and the port atmosphere also still quiet.
ANTARA press from Gilimanuk port reported that at the port parking area there are no vehicles at all, both four and two vehicles, none of them get in line to entering the ship.
Once the vehicle arrive at the port they straightly entering the ship. It is the same with the people who want to cross the strait using public bus in relay. There have been a queue happened on Monday (September 6th) up to Tuesday in the morning at the port that will lead to Ketapang of Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. Although it is prove that that was small line of queue so it does not overflow to the high way. Thus, four wheel vehicle need to wait one or two hours only in order to entering the ship.
Small number of people crossing the strait from Bali to Java in this year annual influx on Tuesday morning assumed due to the rain last night poured over Denpasar, Badung, Tabanan and Jembrana.
According to some officers, due to the hard rain last night, people who want to cross the strait are canceled their plan or postpone their schedule up to Tuesday in the afternoon. Along the road from Denpasar to Gilimanuk there are people who ride motor cycle take shelter at several places.
One day before the crossing schedule at Ketapang-Gilimanuk observed by head of Bali Police, Irjen Pol Hadiatmoko together with East Java Police Head, Irjen Pol Badrodin Haiti, The head of Bali Police says, “According to our observation, the annual influx from Denpasar to Gilimanuk up to take across to the Ketapang Port, today run safe and smooth.”
It is said that even though the data gathered from ASDP Gilimanuk that number of passengers from H-7 to H-4 leap up around 18 to 20 percent year before, but it not to cause vehicle queue.
Head of Bali Police hope that for the next day also there will be no line of queue both from the vehicles and from the passenger so the people could have their annual influx more conveniently.
“So far, we still have not yet receive any report about traffic accident along Denpasar-Gilimanuk track. Hopefully, there will be no such thing happened for the next days ahead,” he said.
